There is still a problem importing some OBJ files with the GDML Workbench. The problem occurs for Quad Faces that are not Planar.
Not sure what the best course of action should be
  • Just report and suggest the user loads into Blender and fixes using the various blender tools.
  • Change Face to Two Triangular Faces

I think mesh to solid is a transitory thing. Too much data, slow and hard to work with. Mesh to T-splines if you can do it :D
T-splines should handle non-planar faces (though I haven't checked into it yet).

Hi Hypercube,
amazing work. From a technical point of view.

Not long before we decode the exact places that control facial features in DNA. :)

Any chance we could get a parametric human-shaped doll in FreeCAD?

And if possible with a list of preset values held/tied together as e.g. "83:rd percentile of male humans in east Asia" or 47:th percentile of female humans in Holland" and so on ...?

So basically MakeHuman in BREP format? You know you could always import a mesh...

I've done all that in the past, and found it tedious and time consuming.
What I asked for is not about the possibility to do it in the first place, it's about making it simple and convinient for the user to use.
That's what my question is all about.

Perhaps a "stick man"-like skeleton inside it, could be necessary as well?
