Prie-dieu - First woodworking project with FreeCad!

Post by jamtek »

Here is my first successful woodworking project with FreeCad .19, made for a family member.

I used the A2plus, Fasteners and Path work benches. The boards were all cut with a miter and table saw then connected together with pocket screws (not shown). Most of the board edges were smoothed over with a trim router round over bit. The swing out kneeler will be covered with padded upholstery.

The cross cutout was made with from a router template created in another file and was cut on a CNC on 5mm plywood. The g-code for the router template was generated with the Path workbench.

The project was made from reclaimed pine boards and still need to be sanded and painted.

Using reclaimed wood in my projects was not something I had given much thought to in the past. But now that lumber prices have sky rocketed, I am giving it a lot more consideration lately.
