There is a topic on ModelShipWorld which I started over a year ago on using FreeCAD for Ship Modeling and wanted to cross post it here.
Exploring FreeCAD for Ship Modeling
My own project is the schooner Adventure drawn from plans and offsets to the level of detail shown here.
The next steps for this are to get conversion of the format for 3D display which needs surface textures (I think) before rendering.

Amazing work!
I like how you model the ropes (page 2)
How many hours did you invest in the project?
There was a "ship-discussion" in the german forum a while ago.
Cant match with your work...
https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=22148
Again: amazing!

... tmallia, you inspired me for a quick and dirty reconstruction of the Canadian "Bluenose" schooner.
Less frames for a stabile and hydrodynamic smooth Loft.
There must be some more cuts and trims to get the pure hull (file size!!!).

Maybe you need a special feature, go into Macros_recipes and Code_snippets, Topological_data_scripting.

Mario,
Thank you for the lead to building rope. I think that sweeping multiple helixes along a curve is the right way and I will explore it.
