Thanks a lot Joel for adding to release notes. FYI maybe could you add this thread to the "discussion" links: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=11303Joel_graff wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2019 10:48 pm Added Sheet Metal WB to the 0.19 release notes.

Re: Sheet metal WB 2018
Here I would like to share some sheet metal stuffs.
Last months I have tested some workflows about converting 3D solid to sheet metal part.
Basicaly the process is pretty similar with the one discribed by Jaisejames in his thread "Solid Shape to Sheet metal Tutorial":
https://forum.freecadweb.org/search.php ... 9&sr=posts
The aim is to work from faces of the model. IMHO I think my workflow is sharper and allows to get smouth links beetween sheet metal parts (better for MIG welding). To get this I always start from inner faces of the shell.
I'll will talk about that later in a tutorial, because for now there is a small bug/limitation about a function of freecad witch make the workflow tricky.
Anyway, below are some pictures of the FC logo: from picture to 3D solid to 3D sheet metal to flattened sketches.
Enjoy.
Alex

Re: Sheet metal WB 2018
Hi
Since I use Fc V0.19pre, my version of SheetmetalWb that was working with V0.17, does not work anymore, I can not find the links for the latest version (Windows7)

Re: Sheet metal WB 2018
How about update in AddonManager? (Yes, there are things better than in 0.16 )
A Sketcher Lecture with in-depth information is available in English, auf Deutsch, en français, en español.

Re: Sheet metal WB 2018
This is a good point to have a ticket that reminds the user to update said workbench if it is obsolete
Edit: nvm, opened one a while ago: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-addons/issues/95

Re: Sheet metal WB 2018
It is also already working! But only if you have python-git installed, or python3-git when FreeCAD is built with Python3.
