I do the Villa Savoye model, and am still adding things /refining it. Just update the IFC there in the github - lot of problem about IFC indeed.

See if you want to have a look

Villa Savoye FC model + IFC

p.s.
I just upload an IFC updated to match the FC model

good work, i like it.

i think freecad is now ready for professional working. i think it is possible to work arround the problems.

There are a lot of things to overcomes when I try to model the few buildings...

Just attempt to do a quick FC model.

BTW, what do you use to build the IFC, FC model ?

so far i have been able to overcome all obstacles.
the model is 100% created with freecad.
part, sketcher, draft, arch, translate, move, rotate, boolean operations

the kitchen planner could create a kitchen with freecad and the imported ifc file this way

https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic. ... 20#p419042

if you then convert back the meshes with "create shape from mesh", even ifc-export is possible.

Just some informations ...

I do know about other countries but the process in Switzerland would be as follows.

The architect would make the drawings and ifc models as shows by the architect of this building.

The manufactor drawings and ifc model from the foamwork for the base plate and the foundations (the later are missing in the architecture drawings (see foto pictures)) as well as the reinforcement drawings and models would be made by the structural engineer.

The manufactor drawing and model for all the wood work would be made by the company who does the wood work.

The manufactor drawings and the model for the mep would be made by the med engineer or by the company who does the work, depending on project size. The mep could even besplitted in electric, air condition and air management (in German kontrollierte lüftung) and water and heating system. In addition as a result from the mep model there will be a openings model for the mep.

Means just for this building in addition to the architecture drawing and model in minimun three more models. These models need all to fit in each other.

that's the way I imagine it, too.
so that all models fit together, it makes sense that all ifc-files are direct or indirect offshoots of an original file.

Off-topic: Does anybody know why there are concrete panels between the wooden studs in the center of the house?

You pour the slab first, then erect the frames on top of the slab. Frames are tied down to the slab.
There is foam under the slab.
