Great News, thanks Yorik

Yes and no. There are several ways to work around the problem, that's what I tried to explain in the article, but in any case it is not an issue that can be magically solved overnight... All other 3D/BIM applications face the same issue, and the strategies adopted vary a lot.thomas-neemann wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 5:49 pm wonderful, if i understood it correctly, the speed problem with techdraw is now solved

Re: BIM/Arch development news articles from Yorik's blog
Thanks for the feedback. In my opinion, the problem is that many people understand bim as a 3d model + 2d drawings as before.
I think you should choose 2D or 3D, but then without 2D drawings.
then still the problem remains with slow ifc files. once you have saved them as fcstd, it is faster, if the files are huge, I think converting them to mesh makes sense. that can still be referenced.
the subject of attributes is very difficult because precise and complex agreements are necessary. i think it will not prove itself in practice.

An idea for discussion.
If Hatch can produce a patten on CutFaces of a Shape2dView.
Maybe it may be more handy if Shape2dView CutFaces can also built-in with Hatch?
Thanks

Re: BIM/Arch development news articles from Yorik's blog
I'm using freecad-daily, but I cannot find some of the new features listed by Yorik here.
IE: the (AMAZING) idea of the background color switch, how can be activated in BIMwb?
And too horizontal and vertical meausere tools, where are?
Another question: I tried searching ACAD.PAT on the web, but not found anything. Can someone upload somewhere (or over a Telegram channel), or it's all copyrighted/proprietary material?

Re: BIM/Arch development news articles from Yorik's blog
Ok thanks, with this keyword I've found some *.pat file
(but these *.pat files that I tried sadly are not working in FCAD, anyway maybe it's a permission in the PAT folder, I don't know, I'm investigating)
If select this new ACADISO.pat in techdraw for hatching, it's working. If I use the new Hatch tool in Arch, I have an error:
