Can you show a screenshot of what isn't translated?

It looks like all of these are correct in the source code, for example:
https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/blob ... d.cpp#L223

Code: Select all

    sToolTipText    = QT_TR_NOOP("Create a new datum point");
The QT_TR_NOOP() function is used to capture strings to translate.

Edit:
The crowdin links that you provided don't show any results for those strings.

of course

the problem is that these translations are not valid, and I am unable to correct them, there are no corresponding strings in Crowdin

I have the same result, so I don't understand the current state of affairs :roll:

In addition, when I switched the Gui language to French, I saw that the "Cancel" and other buttons have their labels translated ... :(

Has anyone checked the number of strings exported to each language to catch differences :?:

ok

But there may be more cases like this, and not just in Part Design WB.
I just took care of that workbench first.

Ok, starting to figure out some of the issues. First PR of an upcoming series: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/4850

Code: Select all

copy FreeCAD_pl.qm ~/.FreeCAD/translations/
Will this work under Windows?

I expect not, but a developer would have to confirm this.

Ok, i'm add request to bug tracker https://tracker.freecadweb.org/view.php?id=4733

I need a tool for testing translations in the FreeCAD interface.
There is no point in translating the wiki if everything is not translated in the interface...
and i can't afford Linux any time soon.

sgrogan, any idea if it's possible to test translations locally in the FreeCAD executable on windows?
On Linux we use ~/.FreeCAD/translations

@yorik do you mind doing a pull/push of translations to master ?

Yes, the path ~/.FreeCAD/translations is used to check for .qm files.

The paths FreeCAD is looking for are:
  • App.getUserAppDataDir() + "translations"
  • App.getResourceDir() + "translations"
  • :/translations (it's the path of built-in resources)
And recently a fourth path has been added that is controlled by user settings. git commit 719fb95382d59
