Cross-section feature request in Assembly4

Post by Vagulus »

OS: Windows 10 Version 2009
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 0.19.24291 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: releases/FreeCAD-0-19
Hash: 7b5e18a0759de778b74d3a5c17eba9cb815035ac
Python version: 3.8.6+
Qt version: 5.15.2
Coin version: 4.0.1
OCC version: 7.5.0
Locale: English/New Zealand (en_NZ)

I have a drive system assembly created in Assenbly4

It is composed of eight parts which connect along the long cylindrical axis. It would be really great :D  :D if I could slice the assembly on a plane along that axis like

but cross_sectionFCMacro doesn't like assemblies. :(

It would be especially great :D :D :D :D if I could move the slicing plane interactively.

I am hoping ...

I am a bit confused.
The cross_section macro is not part of Assembly4. That's why I posted it to the page that handles feature requests.

I didn't know that sub-forum existed but it seems to be the right place.
Thanks

Do you mean that one? It has been added in not-yet-released 0.20, but the OP is using 0.19.

feature requests should be done considering the current state of development not latest stable so my point stands
