Image workbench: "Create image plane" button is greyed out

Post by exsolvespacer »

As title, I would like to trace a JPEG into a sketch but the "Create image plane" button is greyed out.

How do I remedy this? I only have the "Open" button available to open a JPEG (which works).

Thanks.

Do you have a document open? Do you have some task dialogs left open?

Please see this screenshot of my view when I open FreeCAD and then enter the Image workbench:

Does this help explain the situation better?

Yes, the first of my questions was "Do you have a document open?". You need to have one to insert the image plane in it so if no document is open it will be grayed out.

Thanks. Previously I always seemed to have a new document already open without explicitly creating one. Maybe I'm just going mad.

File -> New

was all I needed to do. Hope this helps some other muppet like me. :P
