missing submenu

Post by steveKimpton »

I've loaded the RealThunder version:

OS: Windows 10 Version 2009
Word size of OS: 64-bit
Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit
Version: 2022.111.28429 (Git)
Build type: Release
Branch: LinkStage3
Hash: ec814c42d02f15171f9dbb7f650400c9943abfe0
Python version: 3.8.6+
Qt version: 5.15.2
Coin version: 4.0.1
OCC version: 7.5.0
Locale: English/United Kingdom (en_GB)

and I'm missing the buttons that correspond to the keyboard shortcuts 1,2,3 etc, to alter the views of objects. Because the keyboard shortcuts work, I can manage but it's a bit worrying.

I've been searching for an answer/explanation but with no luck.

Thanks for this Thomas,
I had found exactly the place you show but couldn't see the method by which I could transfer them into a toolbar. In fact, I can't really see the purpose of the panel. All I can see is "Help" (which doesn't work) and Close. Am I missing something obvious?

Just toggle it on (view>toolbars>view):

Thanks for your suggestion.

All my boxes are already ticked there and I have gone through unticking, restarting, reticking and so on. I've also clicked reset on the preferences panel all to no avail. However your suggestion has made me realise that I have got the view toolbar but it is missing the various options available with the keyboard shortcut. It does have the 'Fit all', 'Fit Selection', 'As is' and one other icon (not sure what it is). See screen shot.

Maybe I should mention that I get " 1.250861 <asm3.main> init_gui.py(14): no solver backend found" on startup but this seems to be something encountered by so many people that I don't think it can be related to this.

no it is not related, but you shouldn't have this message.

Hi Chris,
Do you mean:
You have moved the topic? (Where to?)
I should move the topic? (Where to?)
By mentioning the solver issue, I have moved off topic?

I'm not trying to be awkward, just not sure if I have to sit tight in case someone has an answer or if I should be taking some action.

no, you don't have to do anything
chrisb moved it into assembly subforum, because you are using Link branch of FreeCAD
in the absence of dedicated section and in an attempt to avoid confusion with "master" branch
all questions by people using Link branch are dumped here...
(simply because Realthunder created both Link branch and Assembly 3)
