I've been wondering what other people think about the idea of giving more granular control over how lofting works in FreeCAD. Or perhaps an 'Advanced Loft" function. The idea here would be to provide a means of selecting a point-to-point ordered list to help control how the geometry is interpolated.
While loft is quite functional in its current state, allowing for this degree of input/control you could get around occasional unwanted behavior including no longer being limited only to lofting sketches with equal numbers of points and ensuring that the function resolves by connecting the points you intended. In addition to correcting/avoiding unwanted results, this may also allow for more complex multi-segmented lofts to be accomplished.
Please share your thoughts on this idea/proposal.

Re: [Feature Enhancement] Lofting with point control
first thing to consider: does that option exist in opencascade? (the geometric kernel) if the answer is no this is extremely unlikely to be implemented here. If it exist it's just a matter of exposing that in the FreeCAD GUI.
Re: [Feature Enhancement] Lofting with point control
Sounds intriguing, but is it supported by the geometric OCC kernel?
