Assigning two different materials.

Post by FemDyn »

Hello,
First of all I would like to thank you for such an amazing software.
I have a problem making finite element analysis for an assembly, I made an assembly consisting of 3 parts and i want to assign different material for each part. I tried Boolean union to mesh the assembly as a whole and I referenced material for each solid in the assembly. CalculiX .inp file got written but when i run it , it gives this error "*ERROR in calinput: no material was assigned". Can anyone help me?

You can use the Part Compound tool for that.

Hello FemDyn

here an tutorial what I made it is for plastic material and with FC 19 but the workflow for material should be the same
for linear analysis then you don't have to do the steps with selection the non linear material and a setting of nonlinear
stress and strain values at the INP.

Here a link to the complete discussion
