Re: Private paid Lesson for intro to Arch-BIM module (short and very basic level)

Hi! I can't personally give you particular lessons, because my timetable is currently an uncontrollable hell, but maybe others on this forum could spare a few hours to give you some starters. However, I think it's not hard to learn by yourself, specially seeing that you're quite advanced with FreeCA...

Re: The design group

I don't think Abdullah left because o f the design group. As said above, it began with uwe's changes. I think more and more people are wanting to work on the sketcher, many more than just the design group. If it's someone's fault that Abdullah left, then it is us who merged sketcher code. We learned...

Re: The design group

To be brutally honest, when i see the PR/commit trend and the communication in between, then the PRs from the Ondsel devs have a small priority. Not intended, really hard facts or documented, but my guts never lied to me. Can you give an example of an ondsel PR having had priority? Honestly I don't...

Re: FOSDEM, FreeCAD day and hackathon 2024

Hi all! Further details about FOSDEM 2024 and the FreeCAD day have been added to the blog: https://blog.freecad.org/2023/10/31/fosdem-freecad-day-and-hackathon-2024/ Everything is almost ready. One last task remains: We need good FreeCAD files to showcase on the booth. Ideally, I'm thinking we shoul...

Re: The design group

My 2 cents about some topics above: We should never ever take any specific direction to please people who are paying. You donate to FreeCAD because you want to fuel it, help it, not because you want to control it. The control stays with the community of developers. FreeCAD stays community-based. Thi...

Re: The design group

Another point that's I think relevant: We're discussing defaults here. FreeCAD is highly customizable, and it should always be possible for a user who prefers small toolbars to have it, while people who prefer to have all their tools separated and at hand to reveal them all on toolbars. I think nobo...

Re: The design group

laptops usually use 1080p, and things should stay comfortable on a laptop too. For me that's a good bar to set, but that does not mean there is no room for exceptions. Ideally, the FreeCAD UI would be responsive and adapt to your screen size ;) but that's for a later step. Abou the above fight, I th...

Re: Farewell

You have always been a gentleman in this community @abdullah, and this is IMHO needed even more than your technical skills... This place won't be the same anymore without you. But I respect your decision of course. And sorry if we have a part of responsability in this :(

The design group

We realized not everybody is aware of it, so here goes an announcement about the design group. Basically, since a couple of weeks/months (I lost track), a group of FreeCAD devs is gathering on discord at https://discord.com/channels/870877411049357352/1162044910535450665 to discuss the FreeCAD UI/UX...

Re: BIM/Arch development news articles from Yorik's blog

Cross-post from https://yorik.uncreated.net/blog/2023-025-new-window-tool A new window tool We have a window tool in FreeCAD already. It can do both windows and doors (in the BIM workbench it is split into two tools, window and door, but underneath it’s the same tool). However, it has many limitatio...
