Re: GUI serious problems after linux upgrades

does setting a stylesheet in freecad configuration help? do you have a hidpi monitor? Also post your full freecad info please. Is this from the ppa or the official ubuntu repos?

Re: Zoom Actual PR (poll)

On a normal monitor it's possible to test a few HiDPI things by setting QT_SCALE_FACTOR . When I set it to 2.0 and run the macro the object is clearly too small -- by the same factor. So, obviously HiDPI matters and must be respected to get the correct ...

Re: Zoom Actual PR (poll)

... few seconds. But I still wonder in which cases the function apparently doesn't work and when this tweak factor is needed. Could this be related to HiDPI monitors?

Re: HiDPI and drag thresholds

That's certainly how the code reads to me: the MayaGestureNavigation, for example, has a huge amount of code that works to separate out the various possible mouse events, and to re-synthesize clicks if it accidentally ate them. I'd say that this problem is probably fixable, but it won't be trivial t...

Re: I have marked Wiki roadmap pages as "probably obsolete"

I think HiDPI support is still active/relevant, and the page seems up to date with our last discussions here on the forum. But it definitely seems that the rest are badly outdated.

Re: HiDPI and drag thresholds

Interesting choice of words: my problem isn't speed, it's reliability. I clearly need to dig into this a little more to prove out what I'm seeing, but it's absolutely consistent with the fact that MayaGestureNavigationStyle.cpp is processing mouseMoveThreshold and BlenderNavigationStyle.cpp has no e...

No difference, it is as fast as before.

Input device: touch pad; Mouse model: Gesture.
Right, that makes sense then: Gesture is one that calls startDragDistance. If you try a mouse, and pick (for instance) Blender style, do you notice any difference?
