OK we are not yet one year in :
From bugging Blender about the same [1] I have been made aware of Ayam, which seems to support those features (NURBS in Wavefront .OBJ files.)
I am (gettit ? ) trying to compile it on my NetBSD.

Re: obj export / meshing
So the other topic I had created: https://forum.freecad.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=75373 And that is not all! From a similar threadon Blender: https://ayam.sourceforge.net/ I've got so many questions! *Exc...

Re: obj export / meshing
This is interesting anyway. I had no idea OBJ supported nurbs surfaces... An interesting question, however, would be: Are there other apps out there that support it? Otherwise, it would have not much use. (I know I started another topic, but the question got asked here) I have found https://help.au...

Re: Support for exporting curves in .OBJ and/or Collada formaat
So I see what you mean with the section not specified vm4dim I keep running into references of it being supported though, i.e. https://docs.fileformat.com/3d/obj/#free-form-surfaces Initially I was going to create a git issue over this but now I am not too sure FWIW there is a similar thread on the ...

Re: Support for exporting curves in .OBJ and/or Collada formaat
https://martinreddy.net/gfx/3d/OBJ.spec This specification was proposed / published 15 years ago. But section "Free-form curve/surface" remains unrealized. Thank you for your reply! When I started looking for `surface' I found almost the entire document being about it. I'll start looking ...

Support for exporting curves in .OBJ and/or Collada formaat
Hi! As per the trailing discussion in https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?p=652924 ,I was hoping for the curved surfaces on my model to be exported as such in Wavefront .OBJ or using the Collada exporter There is one to represent curved surfaces in both formats: For .OBJ: https://stackoverflo...

Re: obj export / meshing
Hi thanks fellows ! I was just going to reply @onekk not upset the least. I'm not expecting another reply for another 5 years :P Yeah the thread isn't the best: it doesn't relates in terms of goal but rather in the change to get there. (At least so it felt at the reading.) Another one is https://for...

Re: obj export / meshing
The only real problem will be when exporting faces that contains curved border or even curved surfaces, since they will need to be tesselated. Hi Yorik! It's interesting you say this because the opposite led me to this thread: I am interested in exporting in OBJ (or Collada) with the curve informat...
