Re: A new take on the UI. FreeCAD Nut.
FreeCAD Nut thanks for the detailed response. I'm not saying working with the design team means you have to redistribute the work. Instead, what I hope is that by participating in the design discussion with the design group, that your work can also be leveraged for FreeCAD master as well (when idea...

Re: [AddOn] Shortcuts makeover
Just some thoughts on the subject. A visual representation of the keyboard is an interesting approach, though I do hope that the current editor will remain available (I know you are only working on an addon so that point is moot right now). I can imagine that you add a visual representation, where y...

Re: A new take on the UI. FreeCAD Nut.
The icons look really nice! I wonder how well they align with the pixel grid for 24, 36 and 48 px. Could you show some examples FreeCAD Nut ? I hope you want to reconsider joining the design group rather than work on a stand-alone version of FreeCAD. While the pool of developers has grown in recent ...

Re: [User input] Sketcher - ToolWidget
From the UX point of view consistency is one of the most important things to care about because user actions should have results that user expect done in a way that user expects. Consistency and use of common (well established in other software) patterns really helps with that. While I don't think ...

Re: Naming and function of new buttons in Start workbench
My vote would go to: Part Design = Sketch based model Part = Boolean based model "Model" could also be part or even component. The tooltip would state that: Sketch based models are usually built from sketches. Boolean based models usually rely on boolean operations. The "usually"...

Re: UI/UX Color Palette Analysis - A continuing research project
I did a test to see what this palette allows in terms of individually distinguishable colours for the sketcher. Looking at Obelisk's sketcher colours, there are currently 18 colours. It is possible for me to get up to 17 visually distinguishable colours of which I think it is possible to tell the co...

Re: Polyline tool modal customisation gone in FreeCAD 0.21?
Strange... The user interface tab is just gone on my end.
I didn't do a reboot after install, not sure if that could cause this.- Tue Aug 08, 2023 4:13 pm

Polyline tool modal customisation gone in FreeCAD 0.21?
Are the modal customisations for the polyline tool in the Draft workbench removed? Previously, in 0.20 and 0.21 development versions, there was a tab in the Draft workbench preferences to assign different shortcuts for Wipe, Close, Continue, etc. This no longer appears in the 0.21 release version: h...

Re: Sketcher: Dashed construction geometry
We could potentially make more sub-layers. Maybe 5 if we want also a layer for external geos and one for internal alignment geos. This way the user will be able to select the line style, thickness and color for each type of geos. [...] This could be useful if we want to make sketcher a more complet...

Re: Sketcher: Dashed construction geometry
Fusion 360 uses view dependent dash sizes. So if you zoom in, the lines will always appear the same. So if the linetype you define for construction lines has small enough dashes, they'll remain small enough when zoomed in. There is no constraint in void problem this way.
