Re: Measuring points displacements
Hello, From looking through the OP posts, he started with CCX and also tried with SolverElmer, so hopefully an Elmer answer might help. The OP also asked a related question in the Elmer forum. One more note, changing the Elmer sif to output the entire simulation data set is brute force and will requ...

Re: Measuring points displacements
Hello, It may help if you add 'Output File = datafile.dat' into the Simulation section of the Elmer sif file. I tried it using the Elmer FEM example in FreeCAD, 'Deformation', open the example, write the sif file, then edit the sif file. After adding the above command, click on the green arrow to ru...

Re: Electrostatic results not clear
Hello, The example of calculating the capacitance of two balls uses a feature of Elmer that sets the potential of one body at a time to 1.0 volts, while holding all other bodies at a potential of 0.0 volts. This allows calculation of a capacitance matrix. To disable this mode of operation, change th...

Hello, Looks like the automated build process that calls gmsh isn't working well for you. In this post: https://forum.freecad.org/viewtopic.php?t=77149&sid=91a6d7a8655c6224d416052c13844766 To test the new features, I created a Windows build: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD-Bund ... taller.exe...

Re: difference between tutorial FreeCad / Elmer
Hello, Since the capacitance matches to the third digit, except for a 10^3 factor, it most likely is a units issue. When in Elmergui, open 'Model', 'Summary', and check the size of the bounding box. When you ran the Elmergui solution, did you add coordinate scaling = 0.001? Maybe posting the entire ...

Re: Windows-Elmer-LoadMesh ...does not exist????
Hello, I ran one of the Elmer FEM examples in Freecad on Windows yesterday and experienced the same issue. I downloaded and installed the latest Elmer version and the Elmer FEM example in Freecad ran properly to completion. Apparently ElmerGrid had a bug that only affected the Windows version. Reins...

Re: PR 7100: FEM WB Elmer viscosity bug fix
Hello,
Sounds like an Elmer issue with mesh names, as described here:
http://www.elmerfem.org/forum/viewtopic ... 404#p27404
Try installing a new version of Elmer?
Rich.
