Re: [REQ] This is a formal request to support the USD format

Hello the USD format is the future of all things 3d. ... Hopefully We have seen too many foresee that have failed, many new standards that has not "taken off" and similar things. Usually it suffice to "keep calm" and see how many software will adopt it, if specification are clea...

Re: Edit Controls: where did it go?

... It is a chicken egg situation. - official "stable" version is 0.21.2 - development version is 0.22 If you have a big workforce and update all the Wiki docs to 0.22 users that use the "stable" version will complains There is not actually a solution also because human resource...

Re: Cosmetic eraser is useless.

While you are working on the cosmetics: I would like to see them consistently available as other items in the tree as sub-items of the corresponding view. I also think that it's a good idea. It would just require a clever solution to avoid tree clutter. Maybe some container like for sketcher object...

Re: Finding the would-be colors in a headless environment

It is obvious that headless has no Gui active, you asked for it invoking only the FreeCAD part and keeping deliberately out the Gui part. but FreeCAD could be started with the Gui and then you can hide the main window, and use it. This is considered the advised way to overcome the limitations. Readi...

Re: Official Assembly WB, some intro?

... You will have to wait long time... ;) I don't bother to see Discord even if I have a subscription, IMHO it is more a waste of time than a real place to discuss things. An IRC chat on steroids with a better UI. No threads all the messages in sequence, a real mess to follow a discussion, only use...

Re: Official Assembly WB, some intro?

Hello, this mostly for moderators and developers. What are the moderators supposed to do? A limited work, make a sticky post that will appear at top, so some Assembly developer maybe could copy some info already present in GH for start, to not charge too much work. It will be a "clear signal&q...

Re: Sketcher or Draft

Skecher is not very Python friendly, ie it could be scripted but you will end with a bunch of lines of code for a simple operation. Draft or Part is more compact to script, so I would try to use one if them. But it depends on a couple of questions: - How much the element is lower in the workflow of ...

Official Assembly WB, some intro?

Hello, this mostly for moderators and developers. How much we have to wait to have here a little introduction to new Assembly WB? A casual user probably is expecting to find here some informations, and at least some links eventually to the GH pages where things are discussed. And in future maybe lin...
