Re: Ads on Youtube goes more and more anoying, where to go?

Firefox + uBlock Origin = Zero ads 8-) I currently use Privacy badge. I put uBlock Origin to my list. Thanks for the hint. Sometimes I use jdownloader for downloading Youtube Videos. In any way It should not be needed that we do such work only for being able to watch a video. I had no problem earli...

Re: Ads on Youtube goes more and more anoying, where to go?

The FreeCAD YouTube videos are not controlled by anyone. ... There is little that can be done to control the validity of the content or what YouTube includes in the viewing stream. I'know. But I don't speak about forcing people. Only about having alternatives. Not more, not less. At the end It is t...

Ads on Youtube goes more and more anoying, where to go?

I have more and more ads on youtube videos I watch. Currently, I try to force working with invidious [ 1 ] as alternate Frontend, but that does not feel the correct way. Personally I would vote for using PeerTube [ 2 ] but that needs either self hosting and storage or a trustworthy partner. I like P...

Re: [Feature Request] Work with Hole wizard sketches

Why is there a need for a special type of Line? Create a sketch insert geometry like line point circle Start Hole wizart Select a sketch Hole wizard finds geometry and Propose how it would use them User say: Nope, and unselect holes that should not be used Change the use of a line from middlepoint-t...

Re: Being seriously frustrated with FreeCAD

You are right. Not every Usecase fit with a "history tree" concept. In my opinion we have tree usecases. The Assembly way. Position of Items in the tree is not important. because the items tree is not a history tree, it's more a dependency tree by their mates. Bodies are normally not modif...

[Feature Request] Work with Hole wizard sketches

Please add possibility to use sketches with points. Please add possibility to additional select points of lines manually. If a sketch is not inside an active body, change the behavior and do not prompt an Error only. Add possibility to select a Body. Highlight the body where the sketch lies on (if ...

Edit a Feature and get back to the starter Dialog

One thing I have my Problem with in FreeCAD is the behavior, that if you click on a feature you have a nice and well designed dialog to choose the first parameters. But the moment this Feature is set, there is in many features no possibility to go back to the starter Dialog. I propose a rule, that a...

Re: Version Control Support in FreeCAD

I thought about it a bit more. Perhaps we need to look at the issue from a different angle. FreeCAD has its expertise in design. This area is also being further developed and modernized. Version- and product data management, on the other hand, is an area in which FreeCAD is not an expert. Although F...

Re: Search for a comparison of PDM,PLM, DMS

Hey, thanks for this discussion, it helped me. Now I can handle this buzzword bingo a bit better.

One thing is for sure. FreeCAD is not out of the box supported by any PLM Software. Currently I'm curious what the conclusion of this discussion will be:

Re: Version Control Support in FreeCAD

I don't see the need of an Assembly file. In my opinion you need a good history, version and relation control. A way of work that is way increasing with solved TNP. Then you have the Bodies and in my opinion every Body could have properties and therefore could also be an assembly element after split...
