Re: What happened in my assembly parts
Thank you very much for your suggestion and advice. On the flat top cap, I deleted the last pocket sketch and made a new sketch. The flat top cap remains a flat top in the assembly process and was successful. I am a new FreeCAD user. I am learning from Youtube whatever I need for making models for 3...

What happened in my assembly parts
I have two parts, a flat top cap, and a topless body to assemble. I did have a round top cap before. I copied the flat top cap file and the topless body files into a new folder to ensure I did not add the wrong file when I create the assembly. Somehow, when I added the flat top cap, it becomes a rou...

Re: Why can't I pocket this
The YT video I watch was the first few tutorial videos I watched as a new FreeCAD user. I found a tutorial for FreeCAD, lesson number 1. I just say I will just start from there. I was so new to FreeCAD that I would not know if the info in the video was good or bad. I did not know enough even to ask ...

Re: Why can't I pocket this
Yes, DP = Datum Plane.
The youtube video I watched was to use the DP to cut a hole at an angle to the cylinder.

Re: Why can't I pocket this
Thanks.
I used the DP because I watch a Youtube video on how to put a hole in a cylinder.
That worked.

Re: Why can't I pocket this
I remove the datum plane and use the XZ plane to sketch the holes, click Symmetic to plane. It worked. Thanks.

Why can't I pocket this
New user here.
I am modeling a connector (see photo)
I used a datum plane for the location of the two holes. When I click on the pocket button, the pockets do not appear.
Why?
Is there a better way to put a hole in the cylinder than using the datum plane?

Re: See the Dimensions of the solid object
And, how did you make the object transparent or see-through?

Re: See the Dimensions of the solid object
I am a new FreeCAD user, so please don't mind my ignorance. Maybe, but I will have to see it on my computer to tell. There is not enough detail to see. 1) how did you get the value to display. 2) the Combo view model tree appears different on my newly installed FreeCAD 0.20. Yours look much nicer. H...

See the Dimensions of the solid object
Is there any way to display the dimension on the solid object| For example, no dimension is displayed on the solid object. If I click on a surface or an edge, the display makes no related indication on the model tree in the Combo View. If I want to see the dimension of any part, I have to find the n...
