Re: Boolean with two solids - where is the problem?

... Your solutions looks like a working one. I've used dropmefile to share my file - It was 9Mb. I think my way is somewhat more concise, but, as noted, hollow tubes in FreeCAD are an issue. The problem with dropmefile, and many others, is when someone looks at this thread next week, the file is go...

Re: Boolean with two solids - where is the problem?

FWIW, this is my take...though I'm not sure it meets the design intent. I'd also note that the spiral coil in the original file does not pass geometry check. And, indeed, it does not here either. I used a bit different way to get the spiral path from the surface, to no avail. :( The file is too lar...

My question is, that in your model, do you only have the half-tube only the outside of the bowl?
yes only half tube on the outside.

How did you manage to do it? :)
That was my main issue. There was always some rest tube inside the bowl and I couldn't get rid of it...

Hi Chrisb,

I'm going to try it - I have no clue what CarbonCopy is. I have to make some google-engineering

Re: Boolean with two solids - where is the problem?

Hi Shalmeneser,

the helix is not working. The only way to get a correct projection is using spiral. I think that I did the model in the correct way, but the Boolean operation didn't go well.

Anyway, I highly appreciate your help.
