Wassily designer chair
Second piece of designer furniture to get acquainted with FreeCAD modelling. This is an accurate model of the Wassily Chair, also known as the Model B3 chair, designed by Marcel Breuer in 1925–1926 while he was the head of the cabinet-making workshop at the Bauhaus, in Dessau, Germany. Workflow: Cre...

Re: Designer chair modelling
I am not big fan of bending, fillets and similar operations because they are hard to handle later if you want to get dimensions. But the model looks awesome to me, very realistic, the texture is also fitted very well. For sure this is some kind of level that FreeCAD users would like to have. Thanks...

Re: Designer chair modelling

Designer chair modelling
I used to use Blender but was struggling because it is not meant for precision modelling. Like many I used the tutorials of a guy calling himself Blender Guru. One of his tutorials is about modelling a classic chair design, the Søborg Chair, see https://www.fredericia.com/products/s%c3%b8borg-wood-b...

Farnsworth house modelling
This is the first step of modelling Farnsworth house, designed by Mies van der Rohe, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farnsworth_House . My main objective is to gain experience in modelling a building with FreeCAD. My approach is to create the different components as parts and then make linked copi...

How to extrude curved surface, merge with flat surface and extrude to create 1 solid
I'm having some difficulties creating a solid from 2 surfaces. One solid is on a flat surface and can simply be created by extrusion. The other is on a curved surface and I cannot figure out how to extrude this. Also, ideally, first the 2 surfaces should be merged so that the extrusion will apply to...

Create building that exists of external freecad files that can be updated
I'm trying to create a building that is basically a set of external building components that I create in FreeCAD and assemble in the main file. When the external FreeCAD building component is modified the object within the FreeCAD file that contains the external FreeCAD component is not updated. I h...
