Re: Picture files corrupted?

NormandC wrote:But why use jpegs anyway? In my experience screen grabs look much better if saved as PNG rather than JPEG. JPEG is a good format for real pictures, not screen grabs.
Just habit I guess - no other reason. I need to read up on the different image formats to better understand what to use where.

Re: Picture files corrupted?

Cox, your post is there now. The sysadmin had replicated your results earlier by changing my file to a .png. Strange thing is I had previously uploaded about a dozen .jpg files from FreeCad and now they don't work. There must be some attribute (not sure if that is the right term) or metadata in the ...

Re: Picture files corrupted?

I think it would be useful to post one image here. I believe the max size is 512KB. [/quote] I did attach a pic a few posts up. I even emailed a copy to the other forum sysadm, and he could also open it but not post it. On that forum, I can't even post files saved by FreeCad that I had previously po...

Re: Picture files corrupted?

The new version is an improvement ;) Instead of getting "file is corrupted" when I try to upload the image, it now gives me a "file is not valid" message. OS: Windows 8.1 Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.17.7451 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: mas...

Re: Picture files corrupted?

I"m pretty sure it is the other form that is the problem, but I can upload other .jpg or other files that I create in paint to that forum, just not files I create in FreeCad. Like I said, I know they are not really corrupted as I can open them in other viewers, just something in the files that ...

Re: Picture files corrupted?

"I think, it's a good time to update your FreeCAD Version ;)" Yes, one might think - I'm actually running several versions (newest below) but .14 seems to display better on my super high resolution laptop screen (I have a post submitted on this issue too http://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtop...

Picture files corrupted?

I use "tools->save picture" frequently to upload sketches onto a forum (fornobravo) to show folks how useful FreeCad is to make models/layouts of wood fired ovens. Until recently I was able to do this successfully, but now I get a "file corrupted" message when I try to upload. I ...

Re: Question on line width/thickness

I've never tried to play with source code and recompile - something to look into one of these days :)

Re: Question on line width/thickness

You are probably right it is a QHD resolution problem, but I also have same small vertices in the 32 bit version of .16 shown below. This makes it very tough to do editing of sketches, so I'll just bounce back and forth from between .14 & .16 till the problem is identified or when line width can...

Question on line width/thickness

I am sure I am missing something obvious, but was unable to find an answer doing a forum search. I have recently been playing with version .16 and have trouble sketching due to very thin lines and vertices so small they are hard to select. When I open the same file in v.14 I see fatter lines and lar...
