Re: FreeCAD 0.19_pre Crashes (SIGSEGV) on MacOS; Triggered by kicadStepUp
I'm really sorry, I was just unable to contribute on this topic It might not be relevant now because after skimming through the new posts, I understand only half of it and might not be the same as I started investigating. But I was able to successfully compile version 0.19.3 on my local system and i...

Re: simplifying/tracing sketches or how can I convert a toolpath to a sketch ?
Best guess !
I lowered the tolerances by a factor of 10 and it's working ! Many thanks
So for me the issue is solved. If sliptonic is fine with that I will mark the thread as [SOLVED]
cheers
Thanks for your time

also if you disable the 'removesubtree' function? yes , still because it doesn't even come this far, it crashes already by importing the board. "Funny" fact. I tested all this on a different PC and here also the weekly build crashes on added tracks  I will try to figure out the diff...

Re: simplifying/tracing sketches or how can I convert a toolpath to a sketch ?
Woah many thanks this helped and the 1mm Endmill is now exporting, so this fix solved the problem for me but ... oh, well this is embarrassing ... I broke it again. If I do the same thing again with a 0.01 mm Endmill (I know .. but I want to trace the shape closely ) it breaks again but with a diffe...

Re: FreeCAD 0.19_pre Crashes (SIGSEGV) on MacOS; Triggered by kicadStepUp
So, I updated my Nvidia Linux drivers to the latest one and it stays the same. FDL crashes instantly on importing the board with ReadShapeCompoundMode status True Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. I don't want to overstress this topic, since for me I can work with the weekly build...

Thank you for the detailed reply.
I will update my video drivers and do some testing with the removesubtrees and will report back tomorrow.

Re: simplifying/tracing sketches or how can I convert a toolpath to a sketch ?
Thanks for that, I watched the video. This was good information. Anyway, I'm unable to get it right. I mean , it does work if I use the 5mm Endmill that comes with the path tool bits but as soon as I change anything on the endmill (diameter) I get this posted error. It doesn't matter if I change the...

Re: FreeCAD 0.19_pre Crashes (SIGSEGV) on MacOS; Triggered by kicadStepUp
Strangely applying this hack changes only the behavior in 0.20 weekly build. 19.3 still removes the subtrees (is the kicadstepmod for 19.3 at a different place )?. I also see that the dummy board crashes not every time, more like every 2nd and 3rd try. But the FDL board crashes sometimes instantly s...
