Re: Exported SVG's incompatible with svgnest
I installed FreeCAD daily and have been testing various export methods. With 0.17 the only issue appears to be that circles are polygons with fewer sides relative to size. Exporting to DXF then saving as SVG in Inkscape looks better, but the part objects don't appear to convert to paths so it is not...

Re: Exported SVG's incompatible with svgnest
Actually, 0.17 and 0.16 are included in OSE Linux, but I need to install 0.17 on my desktop. I may be a holdout since I have been assuming it is more beta still. I will install 0.17 and retry the workflow. I saw the thread explaining 2DView, but didn't realize I needed 0.17 ? I see yoriks new nestin...

Exported SVG's incompatible with svgnest
I'm trying to export SVG's of parts for nesting and CNC cutting of parts for Open Source Ecology. I tried the drawing workbench first, but then I saw a thread recommending using 2DView in the Draft WB. The 2DView produces cleaner-looking SVG's, but still, has flaws. Exports I've tried are missing ho...

Re: Strategies for animating belt?
Oh wow, thanks for the demo microelly2 it is very informative. I'll definitely use this more. I plan to start doing some instructionals myself as I learn more FreeCAD while helping on OSE projects. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCaSkjo ... 2pg/videos

Re: Strategies for animating belt?
Interesting, Thanks for the info. I went with a quick explosion bench and video editing method, but I do need to figure these options out for future use. Anyone interested in Open Source Hardware Development can check out the Developers page at OSE. They need all kinds of Devs. http://opensourceecol...

Strategies for animating belt?
Hello, I am working on the OSE D3D printer project animating assembly for a build workshop this Saturday so I am looking for a quick way to animate or give the illusion of animation of a belt. I am uncertain this is an ideal task for FreeCAD, but I am sure there are multiple ways. I thought I might ...
